About ReconnectSphere

Built from experience. Shaped by listening.

Our purpose

ReconnectSphere helps immigrant teenagers find practical information, opportunities and a sense of belonging while building a life in the UK.

Moving country changes more than your address.

New schools, unfamiliar systems, different accents and the pressure to settle in quickly can make ordinary tasks feel much harder than they should.

Useful support exists, but it is often scattered across council pages, charity websites, school notices and organisations a young person may not know to search for.

ReconnectSphere brings those pieces together in one place designed around the questions immigrant teenagers actually have.

The founder story

Created by an immigrant teen, for immigrant teens.

ReconnectSphere began as a CREST Gold research project by Rejoice George-Nwankpa. After moving to the UK and adapting to new schools and systems, she recognised that the challenge was not simply finding information. It was knowing what to search for, who to ask and where to begin. The project turns that experience into something practical for other young people.

Research before features.

The website is being developed through primary and secondary research rather than assumptions about what immigrant teenagers need.

01 / LISTEN

Survey

Young people shared views about belonging, representation, pressure to fit in and the support available to them.

02 / UNDERSTAND

Interviews

Interviews explore personal experiences in greater depth while protecting each participant’s identity.

03 / DESIGN

Prototype

Research findings are translated into practical pages, resources and safer community ideas.

04 / IMPROVE

Testing

Feedback is used to simplify navigation, improve accessibility and decide what should be built next.

What guides the project.

01

Useful before impressive

Every feature should solve a real problem or help somebody take a clear next step.

02

Young people are not one story

Immigrant teenagers have different cultures, routes, experiences and ambitions. The platform should make room for that variety.

03

Clear and welcoming

Information should feel understandable and human, especially when the system itself is unfamiliar.

04

Safety built in

Community features should grow carefully, with reporting routes, boundaries and responsible decisions included from the start.

Start with what you need.
